The 「Information Department」 was changed to the 「Information Center」, with Lin Rong-Syun, the chief secretary from the original Information Department becoming the head of the Information Center. |

In the presence of reporters, Chen Jyu, the mayor, together with Su Jhih-Fen, the magistrate of Yunlin County, used the technology and facility resources provided by our department to hold an internet conference in the conference room at our Information Department, and officially signed the 「Agreement of Cooperation to Share Educational Resource of Lifelong Learning between Kaohsiung City Government and Yunlin County」, so as to allow the citizens of Yunlin County to take part in learning through the excellent resource sharing platform (Department of Facilities) of the Open University of Kaohsiung. |

Completion of the new version of WebCall system for Kaohsiung City, which offers free and convenient communication services, where citizens may contact the 1999 Kaohsiung Hotline and communicate with staff in the City Government Complex Office Building at anytime, anywhere through the network. The on-line digital learning platform and the content update for Kaohsiung E-Learning School were completed on December 21st of 2009, with the main purpose of integrating the digital learning resources for the Human Resources Development Center of our government, so as to offer every citizen, government employee and teacher in the country with on-line learning and certification functions, which in turn reduces the digital divide between cities and townships |

Our department has obtained the second annual revision for ISO27001 Information Security Management System on October 22nd of 2009. |

The certification process for the 2009 World Games officially began on July 14th of 2009, and was successfully completed on July 26th. In order to offer the most comprehensive services, the daily service hours were extended to 2:00am the next morning (the latest was till 4:00am) with the collaboration of all stationed departments, such that all contestants and guests could experience Taiwan’s passion and service.（98/07/14） |

Established the internet in the city hall with fiber optic network bandwidth support and load balance mechanism, where two dedicated 50M cables were applied to share the loading and act as redundant support for each other, so as to enhance the efficiency and stability of internet access in the city hall. |

In response to the global trend of government digitization, to integrate City Government e-administration and the relevant information construction for the World Games, as well as to strengthen the promotion of information industry policy, the 「Information Center」 was elevated to the level of a first grade institute to become the 「Information Department」. It was officially put into operation on January 1st with an unveiling ceremony attended by the mayor, and Jhang Jyun-Yang, associate professor from the Department of Information Management at the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, was appointed as the head of the Information Department. |
